Term 3 Highlights: Connection, Innovation and Success
Term 3 has been a dynamic period of achievement and engagement, reflecting our school’s commitment to providing a rich and holistic educational experience. From community connections to outstanding results in sports and the arts, the term has been filled with moments of inspiration and growth.
A key highlight was our work on ‘Moving Forward As One’, our Strategic Plan for 2025-2030. This ambitious plan outlines our vision for the future, reaffirming our commitment to strengthening student learning, deepening wellbeing and ensuring Peninsula Grammar remains a place of genuine opportunity and belonging for each student. We are excited to share this with our community in the last week of Term 3.
In leadership, we were delighted to welcome alumna Dr. Amanda Hammond (Class of 2008) to the School Board. As a former prefect and local GP with deep family connections to the school, Amanda’s appointment reinforces the strong sense of community that is the bedrock of Peninsula Grammar.
Our students have excelled across a diverse range of fields. In a heartwarming example of intergenerational learning, our Year 3 students visited Mount Eliza Gardens Aged Care to explore how communities change over time. They shared songs, stories and laughter with residents, gaining valuable firsthand insights that brought their inquiry unit to life.
Innovation was on full display in our ICT programs. Year 6 students harnessed creative AI tools for their Market Day projects, while Year 7 students designed and built robotic animatronics. In Year 8, students explored the world of virtual reality, creating immersive 3D worlds using industry-standard technology.
Our Performing Arts continue to impress, with standout events such as the Mini Musical, Grand Music Showcase, VCE Drama production ‘Ruby Moon’, and Dance Showcase, each highlighting the strength and vibrancy of our creative community.
On the slopes, our Snowsports team delivered a record-breaking performance at the Victorian Interschools event, with 15 students qualifying for Nationals across 33 events. Peninsula Grammar was also ranked as the 10th Coeducational School in the competition, an outstanding achievement reflecting the dedication and skill of our athletes.
Our Father’s Day celebrations were full of warmth and joy, featuring past student James Rees, now a proud PGS dad, entertaining the community, while Junior School students proudly shared their school with their fathers.
The term has also been a hive of creative energy, with rehearsals for the Middle School Production of Finding Nemo Jr. in full swing. With a cast and crew of over 100 students, the production is set to be a spectacular showcase of talent and teamwork. The handcrafted puppets and intricate costumes promise a visually stunning experience for audiences. Tickets are now available to purchase online.
As for our most senior students, the Class of 2025, they have now completed all internal assessments and are preparing for their September Practice Exams. Next Term will bring wonderful Valedictory Celebrations to honour their journey and achievements alongside their families.
As Term 3 concludes, we celebrate the diverse accomplishments of our students and the strength of our community. We look forward to continuing this momentum into Term 4.
