CELEBRATING ACHIEVEMENT
& TEAMWORK

Peninsula Grammar has an enviable reputation in sport.

Our aim is to develop well-rounded students that are committed to their individual health and participation in physical activity.

Sport creates opportunity for all, encouraging multisport participation in a fun, engaging and progressively challenging atmosphere. We offer quality coaching at all age levels and develop fundamental skills that can transfer between sports.

We inspire a generation of students who love sport

Students have every opportunity to excel in their chosen sport at Peninsula Grammar.

SPORT CREATES A VITAL
BALANCE TO ACADEMIC LIFE

Our Junior School boasts an exciting Physical Education program that offers broad physical activities that aim to provide each child with an understanding of the importance of a healthy lifestyle, making sound nutritional choices and establishing a lifelong involvement in sport.

This approach flows through to our Middle Years Physical Education program in Years 5-6 as we prepare our students for the Years 7-12 AGSV Saturday Sport competition. Years 5 and 6 students are challenged to build on their skills in a variety of game situations that are then further extended in the sport program.

The sports program combines House sport, AGSV sport and varying levels of sport within the Victorian Primary Schools Sports Framework.

AGSV Program

Sport is one of the foundations of our culture. On the sporting field our students learn the essential qualities of sportsmanship, teamwork, humility, determination and courage.

We encourage our students to be healthy risk-takers to overcome challenges and to look upon obstacles as opportunities.

Developing a passion and love for physical activity becomes a habit for life, and we nurture this lifelong habit in our students.

Peninsula Grammar has been a proud member of the Associate Grammar Schools of Victoria (AGSV) since 1965, with our students competing in both summer and winter sports.

In 2001, Peninsula Grammar and four member schools of the AGSV combined with the Associate Public Schools (APS) to form a joint AGSV/APS Girls Sport Competition.

We have a strong and proud history in both the AGSV and APS competitions winning 60 Premierships in the AGSV Boys Sporting Competition and AGSV/APS Girls Sporting Competition. Our girls have been dominant throughout their journey thus far securing 12 Athletics Premierships and 12 Cross Country Premierships, retaining both titles in 2015. In 2016, our First XI Cricket team also won a Premiership.

Our Sports Department continues to provide new sports for students to enjoy, quality coaching personnel, development squads for students to excel in, tours and tournaments for students to enhance their sporting experience and ongoing improvements to our sporting facilities.
