About Rosie Batty AO

Rosie Batty’s story is one of resilience, strength, and unwavering determination. Following a personal tragedy that shook the nation, Rosie channelled her grief into a tireless crusade against domestic violence, becoming a beacon of hope for thousands. Her refusal to let her story end in silence has given a voice to victims across the country and reshaped the national conversation on family safety.

Since stepping into the public eye, Rosie’s advocacy has driven systemic reform. She served as the inaugural Chair of the Victorian Government’s Victim Survivor’s Advisory Council, playing a pivotal role in placing victims at the heart of policy decisions following Australia’s first Royal Commission into Family Violence. Her work has not only changed laws but has fundamentally shifted how our society understands and responds to family violence.

Rosie’s extraordinary contribution has been recognised both nationally and internationally. She was named Australian of the Year in 2015, awarded the Order of Australia, and received the Pride of Australia National Courage Medal. Globally, she has been recognised by Fortune Magazine as one of the world’s top 50 greatest leaders and has twice been named the most influential person in the not-for-profit sector by Pro Bono Australia.

An Inspiring Morning for Our Community

Beyond the accolades, Rosie’s most enduring legacy is her ability to inspire. She shares a journey of healing that empowers others to find hope in the face of darkness and the courage to move forward. For our school community, her visit offers a unique opportunity to reflect on the values of compassion, respect, and leadership.

Join us for this inspiring morning as we celebrate the strength of women and the power of advocacy.
