Welcome Mark Harrop, Head of Middle School
Peninsula Grammar is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Mark Harrop as Head of Middle School.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Education (Deakin University), a Master of Education (Monash University), and has recently completed the Harvard Business School Certificate in School Management and Leadership.
Mark began his teaching career at Haileybury and has served in a number of senior leadership positions including Deputy Head of Castlefield, inaugural Head of Middle School, Head of Pre-Senior, and later Senior Deputy Head / Head of Middle School and Acting Head of Newlands. Mark also served as the School’s Director of Outdoor Education, where he planned and executed an innovative Experiential Learning Program that explored regions of Australia and international destinations.
In these roles, Mark earned deep respect and trust within the Haileybury community.
A passionate and dynamic educational leader, Mark is known for his energetic, innovative approach and his commitment to fostering both academic growth and personal character. He is dedicated to developing the next generation of educational leaders while maintaining a culture that is, in his words, “intentionally welcoming.”
Guided by his personal mantra – “Sharp minds, kind hearts” – Mark inspires students to strive for excellence, build strong study habits, and form meaningful relationships within their school community.
Originally from the Mornington Peninsula, Mark is excited to be returning to the area and reconnecting with the community that helped shape his early years.
