Strengthening Global Partnerships Through VCE

Peninsula Grammar Deepens Global Partnerships at VCE Offshore Conference in Shanghai.

This June, Peninsula Grammar continued its tradition of global engagement by organising the VCE Offshore Conference in Shanghai. A team of nine, including five Mentors attending in person for the first time since 2019, came together with educators from China, Malaysia and Australia, all dedicated to strengthening the delivery of the VCE program worldwide.

The conference brought together a diverse mix of leaders and teachers to explore innovation, share best practice and drive student success across borders. Keynote speakers included respected representatives from the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA), Study Melbourne, Austrade and AIDE Education, as well as academic experts from the University of Melbourne, Monash University and RMIT.

Through their insights, delegates gained a clearer perspective on the key trends shaping secondary education and the vital importance of international partnerships. Peninsula Grammar’s presence highlighted support for its five partner schools delivering the VCE offshore: Pudong Foreign Language School, Taixing No.1 Senior School, PISA Malaysia, Zhengzhou Foreign Languages School and Heze No.1 Middle School.
Teachers and leaders from these schools gathered for professional development sessions, practical workshops and informal networking, forging bonds that will support ongoing collaboration and continuous improvement in VCE delivery.

A key highlight of the trip was a visit to Pudong Foreign Language School, Peninsula Grammar’s long-standing partner and the highest-performing offshore VCE provider, accredited by the VCAA. Principal Leandra Turner joined the delegation to tour classrooms, meet staff and students, and celebrate the achievements of the partnership. This visit reaffirmed shared values and set the tone for future student exchanges and study tours, including the upcoming arrival of students and staff from China and Malaysia to Peninsula Grammar later this year.

Participants left Shanghai with practical ideas, renewed connections and a refreshed sense of purpose. Informative sessions focused on innovation, professional development and student wellbeing, inspiring educators to enrich their classroom practice and enhance outcomes for students.

Peninsula Grammar’s commitment to international collaboration ensures students have access to a truly global education. By working alongside fellow educators across cultures, the School continues to champion the kind of partnership, innovation and shared vision that prepares students to thrive in an ever-changing world.
