Celebrating a Vibrant Term 2
Term 2 at Peninsula Grammar was nothing short of extraordinary, filled with achievements, celebrations, and enriching experiences that highlighted the strength and spirit of our school community.
The official opening of the S.J. Brennan Sports Field was a standout moment, showcasing the transformation of the former North Oval into a state-of-the-art facility, complete with a world-class athletics track and soccer field. Students celebrated the opening with the first House Athletics Carnival, displaying exceptional sportsmanship and teamwork.
Our Mother’s Day Breakfast was another cherished event, honouring the incredible mothers in our community. Attendees were inspired by guest speaker Nikki Jurcutz, co-founder of Tiny Hearts, while a beautiful cello performance by Year 12 student, Han, added a touch of elegance to the morning.
This term also brought remarkable international experiences. Year 8 students travelled to Malaysia, attending the Peninsula International School Australia and immersing themselves in the local culture. Meanwhile, a group of students explored the USA as part of the Advanced Space Academy, participating in astronaut training and witnessing the Starlink Mission launch.
Sporting achievements shone brightly throughout the term. Our Equestrian and Aerobics teams earned top honours, with standout performances in State Championships and National Competitions. Tyler’s victory in the Stawell Gift’s Restricted Mile handicap event and Thomas’ swimming success were especially notable. Additionally, our Netball and Badminton teams celebrated significant milestones, reflecting the depth of talent across our school.
The arts flourished with a series of jazz events, including Jazz Night and the Sounds of Brazil concert. At Generations in Jazz, Peninsula Grammar’s choir placed 3rd in Division 3, and Year 10 student, Noah, achieved the honour of being selected for the Division 2 Superband.
Our Cadet Unit marked a 60-year legacy during their Bivouac Camp, where recruits and senior cadets embraced leadership, teamwork, and practical outdoor skills.
May also saw a celebration of National Boarding Week, with boarders engaging in service initiatives and enjoying a spirited community dinner. National Reconciliation Week followed, fostering learning and reflection through discussions, activities, and cultural events that deepened our commitment to unity and respect.
Another highlight this term was the celebration of our Year 10 and Year 11 Socials. These vibrant events gave students the opportunity to dress up and come together, creating lasting memories and strengthening friendships. The Year 10 Social was filled with energy and inclusivity, while the Year 11 Social offered a more glamorous atmosphere, combining elegance with excitement. Both events played an important role in fostering unity and a sense of connection within the year levels.
From academic successes and athletic triumphs to community celebrations, Term 2 exemplified the vibrancy and diversity of life at Peninsula Grammar. We extend our gratitude to everyone who contributed to this remarkable term and look forward to many more moments of growth and connection in the months ahead.
