Wellbeing

BE SEEN, BE SAFE
BE STRONG, BE INSPIRED

As a School community we are committed to every person feeling safe, included, known and experiencing a sense of belonging.

Wellbeing at Peninsula Grammar allows students to sit with discomfort, to understand and embrace strong feelings, and to feel safe and confident to seek help and support when needed.

We want students, staff, and parents to value curiosity and challenge, and to get excited about new opportunities and change.

Programs

In Junior School, students should feel seen and known as they transition into their first years of schooling.

In Middle and Pre Senior School, they should feel and be safe, and will need to be strong as they navigate through adolescence.

In Senior School, we want students to be inspired by their chosen subjects, their teachers, their peers, and most of all, themselves, as they discover who they are and where they are headed.

Wellbeing at Peninsula Grammar works with students, staff and parents in a variety of ways. We run workshops within class groups and across whole year levels that age-appropriately address issues such as managing strong emotions, developing and sustaining healthy friendships and relationships, growth mindset, and child safety. We want students to gain skills in self-care, managing discomfort and distress, and seeking help when needed at the school. We want students to develop healthy and respectful relationships with themselves and others around them, so that everyone feels they belong in our community.

Most importantly, we want students to feel that if they make mistakes they can work with us to learn from them and be accountable for their own behaviours. We work in close partnership with teachers and families, with the common goal of assisting each student to achieve and be their best selves, and to be proud of the person they are becoming.
