MY Mount Eliza Run and Fun Festival, 17 March

Peninsula Grammar is a proud gold sponsor of the MY Mount Eliza Run and Fun Festival to be held at the Mount Eliza Regional Park on Sunday 17 March.

We encourage our community to take part and register at to support this important local event.

Dogs are invited to join the 4km All Paws walk, the event is also pram-friendly.

The Festival’s goal this year is to “#HelpGeoffTo80” to help Geoff reach both 80 years of age and to raise $80,000 for Myeloma Australia. Over 1,000 participants have taken part annually over the last two years in the 4km and 8km trail run/walk. The festival has, to date, raised over $70,000 for Myeloma Australia to fund two part-time nurses annually.

The vision of the MY Mount Eliza Run and Fun Festival, now in its third year, is to see the local community come together for an annual event to focus on health and wellbeing, promoting a strong and happy community who are motivated to give and champion others. The festival aims to engage the local community to have greater awareness of Multiple Myeloma and to see funds raised for Myeloma Australia to continue their work supporting patients and carers.

The MY Mount Eliza Run and Fun Festival is the brainchild of Mount Eliza local Geoff Nyssen who, at age 40 in 2014, was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. Despite this devastating circumstance, Geoff found a way forward – triumphing adversity with empowerment and inspiring and rallying others along the way to live well. You can read more about Geoff’s personal journey with Multiple Myeloma at

The MY Mount Eliza Run and Fun Festival is designed to be a gift to the local community and boasts the values of wellness, empowerment and community that Geoff and his voluntary committee believe form the foundation for an engaged, resilient, happy and generous society.
