Peninsula Grammar enters student teams annually in the Debaters’ Association of Victoria competition with great success.
We have development squads in the Middle School where Senior School mentors help our younger students. The mentors are a valuable support to the regular classroom debating activities at Years 7 and 8, strengthening links between students and providing valuable leadership opportunities.
Debating is used as a form of oral communication in the senior English curriculum. Inter-class and inter-House debates provide further opportunities for students to learn the skills of public speaking.
Our school also enters students in other forms of public speaking competitions, such as mooting and plain speaking.
Exploring our campus is the best way to see Peninsula Grammar’s unique learning environments and our curriculum in action.
