class of '99 memorial scholarship - Year 10 & 11

The Class of ’99 Memorial Scholarship has been established to honour the memories of Daniel Groves, Blair Hibbert and Timothy Noble who lost their lives in a tragic car accident in Frankston on 21st November 1998. At the time of the accident the boys were approaching the end of Year 11 and would have otherwise joined their classmates who subsequently became the Class of '99.

Daniel, Blair and Timothy were extremely highly regarded by our community.  They took full advantage of all that this School has to offer in an academic and co-curricular sense. The Scholarship is partly funded by the interest raised through the investment of generous donations from the parents of the Class of '99.

Ideally the Scholarship will be awarded to a student who would otherwise not have had the opportunity to attend this School.  Family finances will be a consideration when bestowing the Scholarship. Applications have now closed for 2019 entry.

The details of the Scholarship are:

Nature: General Excellence

The recipient need not necessarily be an outstanding academic, but will show a strong commitment to his/her studies.  In addition, he or she will be able to detail achievements in areas outside the academic program, such as music, sport, drama or debating.


The scholarship is to be awarded to a student entering Year 10 or 11.


Full remission of Tuition Fees for Years 10, 11 and 12 as applicable (approximately $65,000 - $90,000 in total).

Criteria for Award:

 1. Academic commitment
 2. History of general excellence – academic and other
 3. Personal qualities
 4. Likely contribution to the life of Peninsula Grammar.
